Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is the Mexican American journalist. Her current role is a sportscaster for ESPN and is anchor for SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. She started working at ESPN in 2016. The child of the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is bilingual since when she was nine years old. Her abilities were crucial in her landing her first job as a production assistant at Univision Miami, where she was a producer of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. After this her first job, her CBS channel that is located in St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. In 2009, she relocated to Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become reporter for news on KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Covering stories on immigration and drug trafficking both sides of the Texas-Mexico border, she worked as a reporter on the 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor later and a reporter on nine p.m. news in English and also another reporter for the 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. In addition, she covered for weather and sports anchors. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's affiliate station in Dallas. In that station, she was given greater duties. Additionally, she was the producer of Univision 23's local sports channel Accion Deportiva Extra, on where she was anchor. Then, she became the sports host for the morning program of Despierta America Deportes. The anchor also worked in a similar position for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network in addition to Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta's parents were originally native to Veracruz Mexico. Her birth date was November 22nd the 22nd of November, 1985 in Mexico City. She is more mature than her younger sister. Her family relocated in Miami in 1992 following the departure from Mexico. Their divorce was soon followed in 1995. Her mother got married to with a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo who died of kidney cancer in 2006. It was during a summer vacation that she stayed with her sibling at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured an employment. Still a senior in high school, and having an idea of the direction she was going to take for her life, Antonietta visited The University of Mount Union to see if it would meet her requirements. The result was that she liked the campus, and the university offered the program she desired. When she finished her high-school education, she enrolled in the University to pursue media studies. She developed a long-lasting relationship with her teacher Mark Bergmann who was the director for WRMU 91.1 FM, a station of which she was a participant. Mark Bergmann inspired her to be confident in herself and his enthusiasm for journalism was deeply affecting her and she, in turn, strived to live up to his expectations and never disappoint him.
